Angela Oduor Lungati is a technologist, community builder, and open-source advocate with over a decade of experience advancing inclusive technology, global communities, and nonprofit innovation. She is deeply committed to designing and deploying appropriate technologies that expand opportunity and voice for historically marginalized communities.
She is the Executive Director of Ushahidi, a global nonprofit technology organization that helps communities rapidly collect and share information so they can speak up, inform decisions, and drive change.
Angela serves on the Boards of Creative Commons(currently as Chair), and ROOST, and previously served on the board of the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team. She is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Futures Council on Data Frontiers and formerly served on the Council on Data Equity. She is also a co-founder of AkiraChix, a nonprofit that nurtures generations of women technologists building solutions for Africa.
In 2024, Angela was named a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader and a Mozilla Rise25 Honoree in recognition of her leadership in advancing inclusive and responsible AI systems
