Anurit is currently a Senior Consultant- Sustainability Specialist at Capgemini Invent, Capgemini’s consulting arm, where he consults companies in Europe and India on their sustainability and decarbonization agenda, to make them climate positive through various sustainability measures like renewable energy integration, circular economy initiatives, ESG reporting and so on. He is also a part of the Global Shapers Community of the World Economic Forum, where he leads various sustainability-focused initiatives for the Gurugram Hub, and has contributed to the World Economic Forum agenda by writing blogs on climate change & sustainability. Anurit was previously a part of ReNew, India’s leading renewable energy company, where he was a core part of the sustainability and ESG department, while contributing to initiatives around communications, CSR, thought-leadership, and facilitating the leaderships’ participation in key global events like the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos for 3 years, COP26, COP27, The Climate Week NYC, among others, and he led the company’s flagship global internship program. Anurit is a former international-award winning environment journalist, winning the Young Environmental Journalist of the Year award at the Asian Environmental Journalism Awards by Singapore Environment Council, and has written extensively on topics related to climate change, environment & sustainability. He was also chosen as India’s 40 under 40 Indian Achievers by the Indian Achievers Club, and he started his career at Bombay Hemp Company, helping on the strategy & collaboration front for creating an industrial hemp & medicinal cannabis industry in India to accelerate holistic sustainable development. Anurit did his Masters in Liberal Arts with a concentration in Environmental Economics in Ashoka University, writing his Masters thesis on Green Credits, to incentivize sustainable development, which was recently announced as an official government programme in India’s budget this year. He was part of the Young India Fellowship program at Ashoka before that, after completing his Bachelors in Economics and International Baccalaureate Diploma and he is an elected Director in the Ashoka Alumni Council. Anurit has spoken extensively on topics related to sustainability and climate change at leading forums & platforms, including giving lectures at leading schools & universities. Anurit recently was selected to attend SHAPE South Asia 2023, a flagship World Economic Forum event for Global Shapers, in Kathmandu, where he was recognized as a contributor to the climate advocacy paper launched at the event, which also cited a project he led and two of his WEF blogs as references, and was selected to showcase another project he led on afforestation. Anurit is an Adjunct Professor at Meghnad Desai Academy of Economics, where he designed the newly-launched Sustainability elective curriculum and is teaching it to post-graduate students.
