This underestimated tool could make AI innovation safer
Artificial intelligence is powering impressive advances in many industries, so ensuring that AI systems are deployed responsibly is an urgent challenge.
Ashley Casovan is the Executive Director of the Responsible AI Institute, a multi-stakeholder non-profit dedicated to mitigating harm and unintended consequences of AI systems. Ashley has been at the forefront of building tools and policy interventions to support the responsible use and adoption of innovative technologies, both at the Government of Canada and at the Responsible AI Institute. Previously, Ashley led the development of the first major AI-related government policy instrument: Canada’s Directive on Automated Decision-Making Systems.
