Since 2018, General Secretary of UNI Global, the global union federation for workers in services which represents 20 million members in 150 countries. Began work with UNI in 2004 and was appointed as its Deputy General Secretary in 2010. Before joining UNI, 25 years of experience as a US-based trade unionist, beginning as a shop steward in a jet engine factory and later as national legal counsel to leading US unions--spanning sectors including coal miners, delivery drivers, security guards and healthcare professionals. Committed to strategies for worker empowerment, collective bargaining and corporate responsibility. Key negotiator of the Bangladesh Accord. Member of the Board of Directors, Open Markets Institute.
