Daniel Kuepper globally co-leads BCG's Manufacturing and Supply Chain team. He also leads BCG's Innovation Center for Operations (ICO) that comprises a network of model factories around the globe and intends to support clients in building their operations of the future. Since joining the firm, Daniel has focused on operations, primarily lean and manufacturing. He has led numerous projects defining manufacturing strategy—including the achievement of deeper value and better make-or-buy decisions—and optimizing manufacturing networks. Daniel has worked extensively on the question of how manufacturing plants can operate at maximum value and foster continuous improvement. He also has specific expertise sharpening processes in direct and indirect manufacturing (incl. logistics, maintenance, quality) and in making the best use of assets. He helps clients in digitizing their operations and in designing "factories of the future"—including technology assessments (e.g., AI, advanced analytics, robotics, additive manufacturing), Industry 4.0 programs and developing innovative layout concepts like flexible cell manufacturing.
