Jordan Gaines Lewis

Neuroscience Doctoral Candidate, Pennsylvania State University

Jordan Gaines Lewis, PhD is a science writer and postdoctoral researcher at Penn State College of Medicine. Her award-winning writing has been featured in Scientific American, NBC, The Washington Post, Psychology Today, and The Guardian, among others. She is also a Society for Neuroscience Early Career Policy Ambassador.

Her research examines mechanisms underlying the relationship between obesity, metabolic dysfunction and sleep apnea.

Jordan was included on Pacific Standard Magazine's inaugural list of "30 Top Thinkers Under 30" and Business Insider's "22 Brilliant Thinkers Everyone Should Follow on Twitter." She also gave a TED talk in 2014 on why we perceive time flying faster as we age.

A Maryland native, Jordan currently lives in central Pennsylvania with her husband and their kitten, Yoshi.
