Kat Arney

Dr Kat Arney is an award-winning science writer and broadcaster living near London, and is director of the science communications consultancy First Create The Media. She is the author of the popular science books Herding Hemingway’s Cats: Understanding how our genes work and How to Code a Human. She has fronted several BBC Radio 4 science documentaries and the comedy factual series Did the Victorians Ruin the World?, and has written for Wired, the BBC, the Daily Mail, the Times Educational Supplement, the Guardian, Nature, Mosaic, New Scientist and more.

Kat has a degree in natural sciences and a PhD in developmental genetics from the University of Cambridge, and is apparently one of the ‘Top 10 Brits who make science sexy’, according to BBC America.
