Nikolaus Lang

Managing Director and Senior Partner; Global Leader, Global Advantage Practice, Boston Consulting Group

Nikolaus S. Lang is a Managing Director and Senior Partner of the Boston Consulting Group, based out of their Munich office. He has been working for the firm since 1998 and is also the global leader of its Global Advantage Practice, supporting clients on an array of globalization related topics: global trade, localization, international joint ventures, and digital ecosystems. Nikolaus lived in Asia for 10 years and has worked in most of the world's emerging markets.

As a global expert in connectivity, autonomous mobility, carsharing and fleet management, Nikolaus is the founder and director of BCG’s Center for Mobility Innovation, a team of urban mobility experts and digital business builders. This team advises cities, public transportation operators and mobility and automotive companies around the globe on innovative and state of the art mobility solutions. Since 2012, he has led BCG’s cooperation with the World Economic Forum on the Future of Mobility, including Autonomous Mobility, Social Inclusion in Mobility and Software-Driven Mobility.

Lang holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of St. Gallen (topic: Joint Venture Management in China) and a Master's in Business Administration from the University of St. Gallen. Since 2021 he is Honorary Professor at the Institutes for Business Administration and Mobility at the University of St. Gallen.
