1981, Doctorate, Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Tokyo Institute of Technology. 1981, joined NEC Corporation: engaged in the development of wireless communication systems for satellite communication systems and mobile phone base stations; 2003, played a leading role in the PASOLINK business, which eventually became the global market leader (Sky Light Research; 2007-2009) in ultra-compact microwave communications systems by leveraging growth in emerging countries; held a key position in driving various management reforms; former Senior Vice-President responsible for corporate strategy and business development; 2010-16, President; since April 2016, Chairman of the Board. Throughout career, has focused on driving innovation through advanced technologies for customers worldwide and building strong relationships with a diverse range of customers both in and outside Japan. Known for broad international perspectives gained through extensive experience in the global market and time spent living abroad.
