Since 2000, General Secretary, UNI Global Union. Member of the Board, UN Global Compact. Named one of the most influential people in Switzerland, Bilan Magazine (2010-2013); recipient, Nagasaki peace award, Nagasaki City Mayor Tomihisa. Awarded Honorary Fellowship, Cardiff University 2017.
