Sandra Phlippen

Chief Economist, ABN AMRO

Sandra Phlippen is Chief Economist at ABN AMRO Bank and endowed professor of Sustainable Banking at the University of Groningen. In her academic work, she focusses on decarbonisation options and financial resilience of households and firms.

As a supervisor Sandra is affiliated to the CPB Netherlands Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis. Furthermore, she is an external advisor on budget matters to the Council of State.

In her previous affiliations Sandra was an assistant professor at the Erasmus School of Economics (Working on occupational mobility) and she also worked as an economics editor in journalism and policy economics. Sandra is active in the public domain by writing regularly for newspapers and being a guest on Dutch and international television and radio broadcasts. Sandra Phlippen graduated from Erasmus University Rotterdam and obtained her PhD at the Tinbergen institute in 2008.
