Thong Nguyen

Scientist, Microsoft

Dr. Thong Nguyen is an AI scientist at Microsoft. His work developing novel artificial intelligence systems and algorithms accelerates scientific and industrial applications of AI, spanning from particle physics discovery to the productivity software sector. Prior to joining Microsoft, he worked as a researcher at several institutions including CERN, Google X, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, and the University of Tokyo.

Dr. Nguyen co-authored over 500 peer-reviewed publications in collaboration with the CMS experiment at CERN. His doctoral research on the Higgs boson was highlighted by Symmetry Magazine. In his native Vietnam, he is recognized for his contributions to science, with features and interviews in several leading news outlets including VnExpress, Tuoi Tre News, and Vietnam News.

He holds a PhD in particle physics from the California Institute of Technology.
