Banco Centroamericano de Integración Económica (BCIE)

Banco Centroamericano de Integración Económica (BCIE) has been promoting economic integration and the balanced economic and social development of Central American countries since 1961. It focuses on infrastructure projects, long-term investments in regional industries relevant to the Central American market, investments in the agricultural sector that improve exploitation, industrial modernization and expansion, services for the region's development, social development and the conservation of natural resources and the environment. Its founding member countries are Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica. Non-regional member countries are Mexico, Taiwan, Argentina, Colombia and Spain.
