Ghana Bamboo Bikes

The Ghana Bamboo Bikes Initiative promotes the use of bamboo as an environmentally friendly community-based alternative transportation option and livelihood activity for rural development. The initiative designs, develops and markets bamboo bikes and frames and related products and services to address climate change, poverty, rural-urban migration and high unemployment among youth by creating employment opportunities and sustainable livelihood job skills as builders of high-quality bamboo bikes for both local and export markets.
