Karuna-Shechen

Karuna-Shechen is a charitable non-profit association with branches throughout the world providing medical care to 120,000 patients per year, education to 25,000 children, and social welfare programmes to the destitute and isolated in the Himalayan region. It has accomplished over 150 humanitarian projects since 1999 and has an annual budget is of $2 million, with only 7% used for overhead expenses. Recently it has helped 210,000 victims of the earthquakes in Nepal in 540 villages, with food, medical care and shelters, among others.
