Living Seawalls

Living Seawalls are bringing marine life back to concrete coastlines across the world through innovative design that combines ecological and engineering know-how. Through the use of 3D printing technology, we have recreated the pits, crevices and pools of natural shorelines on modular panels. The panels, which can be manufactured from upcycled materials, are then fitted to new or existing marine developments in customisable mosaics to create Living Seawalls. Since the first Living Seawall under the Sydney Harbor Bridge in late 2018, panels have been installed at 20 sites in Australia and internationally in Gibraltar, Wales and Singapore. After only 2 years, Living Seawalls are already supporting up to 114 species and over 36% more fish, seaweed and invertebrates than unmodified seawalls. Living Seawalls provide a blueprint for constructing for humans and nature. They are returning marine life to developments across the globe.
