Silicor Materials has developed a new method of manufacturing solar silicon at roughly half the production cost of traditional electronic-grade silicon while achieving comparable efficiencies. Additionally, Silicor's process is the most environmentally friendly in the industry, requiring up to two-thirds less energy than competing methods and using no hazardous chemicals.
