Having originally trained as a Doctor of dental medicine at the Medical University of Zagreb, Iskra made a move to the pharmaceutical industry in 2001, joining AstraZeneca in Croatia. Since that time, she has held numerous in-market, regional sales and marketing and general management roles within the company, and is currently Executive Vice-President (EVP) for Europe & Canada.

In this role, Iskra is responsible for our commercial operations across 30 European countries and Canada, with a focus on leadership in three main therapy areas: Cardiovascular, Renal and Metabolism; Respiratory diseases; and Oncology.

Having played a key role in supporting AstraZeneca’s recent return to growth, including while General Manager, Russia, during which time AstraZeneca became a top three prescription medicine pharmaceutical company, Iskra remains focused on championing innovation that supports the delivery of life-changing medicines to patients.

Iskra holds an International Executive MBA in Business and Leadership from the IEDC-Bled School of Management, Slovenia.
