Abdul-Hakim Zakaria is a writer (published in international and local anthologies); Freelance Journalist; Blogger, Social and Climate Activist and a Researcher.

Research interests: sustainable agriculture, food safety, antimicrobial resistance, DNA marker-assisted breeding, climate change, public health.

He is a graduate of UDS, where he served as Teaching and Research Assistant in the Faculty of Biosciences during his National Service. During that period, he taught Plant Tissue Culture and Plant Biotechnology to degree students. He also taught Basic Computing for Biologists to diploma students and helped supervised their dissertations.
He holds a BSc in Biotechnology and Molecular Biology.

Abdul-Hakim has worked with several youth groups and initiatives and facilitated many creative projects, symposia and workshops.

He is interested in translating scientific knowledge to simpler forms for the layman's understanding. This he does through symposia, dialogue, fora and innovation and research.

He is the founder of Realm of Science Advocacy and Research Centre wish seeks to create development through science. He is also the founder of Campus 24/7 News Network and voluntarily manages Campus Radio Station of the University for Development Studies.

Fondly called Abdul Hakim Genius, his art form is inspired by the sages of the village, through whose whispers, he draws inspiration. His literary life-journey is to serve the village hut, while draining their juicy cranium-filled wisdom.

His words of poesy is out of inspiration from the African hut, nature and society. His works span across genres and loves to write about nature, love, life and spirituality. He has also mastered the 'Carpe diem' poetry which he uses as a tool to better the quality of lives.
Genius' poems float freely in air, touching every heart and causing every pores on the skin to erect.
