Abdulaziz Al-Ali

Managing Director, Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution Qatar

Abdulaziz is the managing director of the Centre for Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR) in Qatar. In addition to shaping the center's strategy and overseeing projects execution, he is a member in several World Economic Forum working groups related to the use and governance of AI, and an active researcher in the Machine Learning field and its applications. He led and participated in several industrial research projects such as the detection of fake news in Arabic social media, in collaboration with Aljazeera media network; non-invasive detection of hypoglycemia in people with diabetes, jointly with Weill Cornell Medicine- Qatar; energy load forecasting partnering with Iberdrola; and restoring cultural heritage images, a collaboration with the Museum of Islamic Arts -- among others. Abdulaziz received several research grants, culminating in top-tier conference and journal publications. He also served as an editor for data analytics books, and actively participates in several national level committees in Qatar. Abdulaziz was previously the director of the KINDI Center for Computing Research in Qatar University. He Holds a BS and MS degrees in Computer Engineering and a PhD in Machine Learning from the University of Miami, Florida.
