Adi Rai

Curator, Melbourne Hub

Adi Rai is a Chartered Accountant and finance transformation manager at EY. He helps organisations turn complexity into decisions across strategy, governance, finance and risk. His work spans operating model design, control uplift, performance reporting and technology-enabled change so leaders can decide faster with greater accountability.

Adi co-leads Cultural Diversity@EY in Oceania and the cross-industry Careers in Colour Alliance. He focuses on moving DEI from intent to governance by improving data quality, clarifying accountability and building sponsorship pathways. His approach is practical and measurable.

As Curator of the Global Shapers Melbourne Hub and Managing Director of Not Too Young To, Adi builds pathways for youth participation in democracy. He co-designed Decoding Democracy with partners to explain how government works and how to engage decision-makers. The toolkit is reused by community groups, participants report higher confidence to vote and contribute to policy, and alumni have been elected or appointed to civic roles. Earlier, he helped translate Foundations for Tomorrow’s Awareness to Action consultation, which gathered views from more than 10,000 young Australians, into briefs and convenings on intergenerational fairness.

Previously a student director of the Adelaide University Union, Adi contributed to major decisions including a divestment, sharpening his understanding of fiduciary duty, stakeholder engagement and transparent decision-making. He holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) from the University of Adelaide, a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice, and membership of Chartered Accountants ANZ.

Adi brings financial acumen, systems thinking and a community lens. He is drawn to work where inclusive governance translates mission into measurable impact and durable institutions.
