Degree in Engineering, University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Pakistan; Specialization in Negotiation, Program on Negotiation, Harvard Law School; two Master's degrees and a PhD, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Former Vice-Chancellor, Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), Pakistan. Research and teaching focus on sustainable development and climate change in a developing country context. Member of the Board, WWF-International, of The Asia Foundation, and of the Pakistan Institute for Environment-Development Action Research (PIEDAR). Chair of Board of LEAD-Pakistan. Author of over a dozen books and over 100 scholarly papers; has served as a convening lead author for the IPCC. Recipient, Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Star of Distinction), one of the highest civil awards of Pakistan.
