Aditi Avasthi Surri

Co-Founder, AssetBlue

Aditi Avasthi is the Founder of AssetBlue and the Founder and former CEO of Embibe. An AI entrepreneur and operating leader with more than two decades of experience, she combines hands-on product architecture with company-building, capital raising and large-scale deployment. Her work spans personalised education and industrial intelligence, with a focus on turning specialised knowledge into systems that support better decisions.

At AssetBlue, she is building AI that helps engineers understand why industrial equipment fails, evaluate competing explanations and determine what to investigate next. The platform combines failure physics, engineering knowledge and field evidence—from photographs and alarms to operating readings and maintenance records—to support diagnosis, with engineers retaining sign-off. She conceived and led the development of Vulcan, its engineering knowledge compiler, which structures technical literature into causal knowledge graphs spanning more than 1.25 million connected objects across five asset classes. Her work also includes developing benchmarks to measure where AI models struggle with rare industrial failures and what improves their reasoning.

Aditi founded Embibe in 2012, raised US$240 million, negotiated its acquisition by Reliance in 2018 and remained CEO through its merger into Jio in 2025. Under her leadership, Embibe served more than 35 million learners through institutional deployments across 14,000-plus institutions, supported over one billion learning hours and reached more than 190 million people across its wider ecosystem. She grew the organisation to 5,000 people at its peak, building across consumer, institutional and public-sector markets.

She designed Embibe’s knowledge graph and adaptive-learning architecture, combining structured educational content, assessment and behavioural insights to personalise learning. Her public-sector work included partnerships with 12 state and central education bodies and the rapid deployment of the National Testing Agency’s National Test Abhyas app during the 2020 lockdown. She is a named co-inventor on seven granted US patents covering adaptive learning, behavioural modelling, knowledge-based recommendations and automated assessment generation.

A World Economic Forum Young Global Leader, Aditi founded the YGL Women’s Summit in 2025, convening its inaugural gathering in Marrakech. She now leads the AI workstream for a mentoring initiative built on women leaders’ experience. Her recognition includes BBC 100 Women, Fortune India’s 40 Under 40, Vogue India’s Woman of the Year—Young Achiever, and NITI Aayog’s Women Transforming India recognition for Digital Innovation. Before Embibe, she led mobile-banking transformation and technology partnerships at Barclays across Africa and the United States, established TCS’s Scotland operations and worked in Bain & Company’s Private Equity Group.

Aditi holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BE in Electronics, Instrumentation and Control from Thapar University. She also completed Harvard Kennedy School’s Global Leadership and Public Policy executive programme.
