Feb. 1998 and May 2000, elected Member of Parliament, Council of the Republics; Sept. 2000, elected Member of Parliament, Federal elections. 2008, founded the Serbian Progressive Party; 2012, acting President, then elected President. July 2012 - Sept. 2013, Minister of Defence. September 2013, First Deputy Prime Minister in charge of the fight against corruption and crime. Since March 2014, Prime Minister of Serbia. Has actively participated in negotiations between the Serbian government and provisional institutions in Pristina, under the auspices of the EU. Recipient of numerous awards and honours. Interests: literature from the fields of historiography and geopolitics, Serbian and world literature; chess; football; basketball.
