Coordinator of Sustainable Cities Program and Senior Climate Change Specialist, Global Environment Facility

Aloke coordinates the Sustainable Cities program at the Global Environment Facility (GEF) Secretariat which is working directly with more than 50 cities in 17 countries globally and has established a global knowledge and collaboration platform to advance integration approach for delivering global environmental benefits and urban transformation. He leads GEF's engagement in shaping the sustainable cities programming strategy and fostering collaboration with partners including multilateral financial institutions, UN Agencies, global city networks and domain experts for large scale impact. Prior to GEF, Aloke worked at DFID based in New Delhi, India where he led climate resilience and urban sustainability programs in India. Aloke holds a Master of Public Affairs degree from Indiana University, Bloomington, United Stated where he concentrated on Environment Policy and Natural Resource Management.
