Alvin Roth

McCaw Professor of Economics, Stanford. Gund Professor Emeritus, Harvard. Has helped design markets through which American doctors get their first positions and school choice systems used in many American cities. One of the designers of kidney exchange in the United States, which helps incompatible patient-donor pairs find kidneys for transplantation. Co-winner, 2012 Nobel memorial prize in Economics for work on market design.
