Coming from a mixed heritage background of an English father and a Malay mother, Amalina has always been curious about cultures. Coupled with her passion for social advocacy, she has spent time on-the-field volunteering for education and youth empowerment across India, Australia and Spain. Yearning to make a tangible impact to her own community in Malaysia, Amalina is the current Vice Curator of Humans of Kuala Lumpur, a popular storytelling platform that has evolved into a social advocacy platform, telling real, intimate and raw stories of the people in Malaysia.
Amalina is also a Transformation Consultant in Sime Darby Property, the property arm of Malaysia's largest conglomerate. Her work largely focuses on creating more affordable housing to ensure each Malaysian can own their own home. Equipped with a double degree in Chemical Engineering and Business Management from the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia, Amalina has ventured into downstream palm oil engineering, internal audit and sustainability previously.
