Alumni, Global Shapers Community

Amanda Dominguez most recently served as a Senior Consultant for Government & Enterprise Solutions with ConsenSys, the world's largest blockchain company, in Asia-Pacific. While at ConsenSys, Amanda served as the public policy expert and government relations lead for Project i2i, the world's first blockchain-based domestic remittance platform for rural banks in the Philippines. As a steadfast proponent of multi-stakeholder and interdisciplinary approaches to value creation, Amanda bridged efforts among the Philippine financial regulators, bankers, and software developers, to ensure that the platform maximized its social impact. Her work was published in the first print edition of the Stanford Journal of Blockchain Law & Policy CodeX in 2018 and she has also contributed to the Philippine SEC's draft regulatory framework for security token launches. Amanda currently serves an Advisory Council Member on Governance & Accountability for the Global Shapers Community, an initiative of the World Economic Forum to mobilize youth for social impact. Amanda's exploration of the intersection of technology and social change, began during her time at the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. In a self-directed study, Amanda examined the relationship between culture, knowledge and power, with a focus in cross-cultural communications, media and technology. Her academic work includes a thesis for the Classics Department that identifies 1st century Pompeiian graffiti as ancient social media, as well as extensive research on the ever-evolving landscape of analog and digital media. Since receiving her Bachelor of Science degree, Amanda has worked in various capacities in the media and technology spaces, seeking to sustainably empower both organizations and individuals to improve the state of the world through digital transformation and adoption of emerging technologies. In August 2020, Amanda will begin her MBA at MIT Sloan School of Management.
