Amandla is a socially conscious Afro-optimist, who is passionate about sustainable development, good governance, leadership and policy.
She has experience in a number of sectors from Oil and gas, aviation, logistics to Government. She currently works at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as the Program manager on Women and Youth affairs in the Office of the Cabinet Secretary. Through her experience working in the public sector she has gained a deep knowledge of the emerging international and regional issues and has developed a keen interest in the areas of peace and security, gender equality and youth empowerment.
She also advises the Princess of Africa Foundation on the development of the Leaders of the 21st Century program that aims to empower youth in the areas of youth leadership, whilst addressing current issues such as unemployment and gender equality.
Prior to that Amandla worked in aviation where she led strategy to revive and setup a freight start-up airline that was positioned to support the logistical needs of humanitarian cargo sector in the region. She has consulted for a leading cargo general sales agent that handles Africa’s most profitable airline, where she drove the establishment of their dedicated charter division.
Amandla is a graduate of the University of Cape Town where is obtained both her qualifications; a Post-Graduated Management Diploma specialising in Tourism management and a Bachelor of Social Sciences in Politics and Public Policy and Administration. She is currently pursuing her Masters in International Development at SOAS, London
Amandla is motivated by her desire to make a positive impact and hopes to instil an African pride by encouraging young Africans to embody the ethos of Pan-Africanism. She strongly believes in the importance of the inclusion of African youth and women in leadership roles and is focused on empowering youth to become more politically engaged in order to actively influence the decision-making processes that directly impact their lives.
