Andi Taufan Garuda Putra is Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Amartha Microfinance, microfinance initiative dedicated to serving those living at the very bottom of the socioeconomic ladder. It has empowered more than 10,000 members. Since its inception in 2010, it has disbursed millions in dollar loaned to low-income entrepreneurs with average of hundred in dollar per member. Former Consultant, IBM. Recipient of numerous of awards including: Young Changemaker (2010), Ashoka; Satu Indonesia Award (2011), Astra; Laureate Global Fellow (2013), International Youth Foundation; Ganesha Innovation Champion Awards (2014), ITB Alumni. Taufan was educated in Institut Teknologi Bandung where he majored in business. He is MasterCard foundation scholar for Micro and SME Banking programme, Frankfurt School of Management. He is currently pursuing MPA degree in Harvard Kennedy School where he is an Edward S. Mason Fellow.
