Andy Wales is Vice President Sustainable Development for ABInBev, leading the group’s work on water and climate, economic development throughout the value chain, social progress and human rights. He joined ABInBev as part of the recent combination with SABMiller plc. Previously he worked as Corporate Affairs Director for SABMiller’s European division and before that as SVP Sustainability for SABMiller plc, leading their ‘Prosper’ platform. Andy has also held Corporate Responsibility and Strategy Director roles at the environmental services group Severn Trent, & textiles firm Interface, Inc. In 2009 he was selected as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum. He is a Visiting Business Fellow at the Smith School Oxford and a member of WWF UK’s Programme Committee. He is lead author of the book ‘Big Business, Big Responsibilities’, published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2010. He holds an MBA from Warwick Business School, a masters degree in Sustainable Development Strategy from Forum for the Future/Middlesex University & a BA in English & International Development from Sussex University.
