Anthony O'Grady

Senior Principal Research Scientist, Environment Unit, Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO)

Anthony is a senior Principal Research Scientist in Australia's National Science Agency, CSIRO. He has a PHD in forest water and carbon fluxes. His research career has been characterised as multidisciplinary, spanning ecology, plant science, ecophysiology, micrometeorology and ecohydrology. For much of the last decade he has led much of CSIRO's work piloting natural capital accounting in the private sector in Australia. This has involved work in the agriculture, forestry and resources sectors. Our work in this space led to the development of the Natural capital handbook which has been influential in both the Forico and BHP accounts. He continues to collaborate closely with private sector partners to drive adoption and uptake of natural capital accounting and assessment, taking a lead by example approach to mainstreaming.
