Antony Bugg-Levine is the Chief Executive Officer of the Nonprofit Finance Fund. In this role, he oversees more than $340 million of investment capital and a national consulting practice, developing innovative approaches to financing social change. Prior, he was a Managing Director at the Rockefeller Foundation, where he designed and led the impact investing initiative and helped launch the Global Impact Investing Network. He convened the 2007 meeting that coined the phrase “impact investing” and co-authored “Impact Investing: Transforming How We Make Money While Making a Difference”. Bugg-Levine was Country Director for Kenya and Uganda at TechnoServe, an NGO that organizes business solutions to rural poverty. As a consultant with McKinsey, he advised Fortune 100 clients in the finance and healthcare sectors and helped develop new frameworks for incorporating social dynamics into corporate strategy. A native of South Africa, Bugg-Levine was a speechwriter for the African National Congress and interim Communications Director at the South African Human Rights Commission. He is a graduate of Yale and Princeton’s Woodrow Wilson School.
