Ashok Tuniho Aram

Chief Executive Officer, Middle East and Africa, Deutsche Bank AG

As the CEO for Deutsche Bank MENA Ashok Aram is responsible for the development of the Bank´s MENA franchise across all businesses, management of client relationships, and the implementation of the region´s growth strategy while safeguarding risk and capital. He chairs the Bank´s MENA Executive Committee and is responsible for the maintenance of corporate governance structure. Ashok first joined Deutsche Bank after his studies in Japan. He has had an international and distinguished 15-year career at Deutsche Bank during which he has been based in Tokyo, Singapore, Frankfurt, New York and London. He re-joined Deutsche Bank in September 2010 after a year at Abraaj Capital where he was Managing Director based in Dubai. In his previous role at Deutsche Bank, Ashok was Head of Debt and Equity Capital Markets (2006-2009) for the Central & Eastern Europe, Middle-East & Africa region during which time he led some of the la rgest capital raising deals in Russia/CIS, Turkey and the Middle East. Earlier he was Head of the Global Banking Division comprising of the groups Corporate Banking and Structured Finance activities worldwide (2001-2004). He was a member of the team which worked on the bank's acquisition of Bankers Trust in the United States (1998-1999) and was involved in the growth of the Structured Credit Trading and Principal Finance business out of London (2004-2005) and Asian Telecommunications banking and advisory practice based out of Singapore (1995-1997)
