I am a senior sustainable finance professional with over 20 years of experience in the private and public sectors. I am committed to using finance to achieve the SDGs and the Paris Agreement on climate. I am currently the Director Climate Finance at the European Climate Foundation. Before that, I was Director Operations at the African Development Bank (AfDB), responsible for managing delivery of the Bank's multi-billion sovereign lending portfolio and ensuring oversight of its country and regional offices. Prior to this, I built a new department as the AfDB's Director for Transformative Energy Partnerships, responsible for project preparation, co-financing, blended finance and investment funds and partnership management with public and private investors, donor governments, DFIs, commercial banks, institutional investors and corporates. Equally at AfDB, I chaired the Bank's blended finance task force and led the development of the Bank's Blended Finance Framework. From 2014-2016, I was Managing Director and Head of Sustainable Investments Europe and Africa at Deutsche Bank Asset Management, managing USD 2 bn of alternative investments in blended public private partnership funds in sustainable energy, agriculture and microfinance. Prior to this I worked for 11 years at the World Bank in various roles, including as senior infrastructure finance specialist based in Cameroon and Ukraine and as operations adviser transparency and aid effectiveness in Washington, DC. I started my career in debt capital markets at JP Morgan Securities Ltd. in London. I hold an MSc from London School of Economics and Political Science, UK, and an MBA from Koblenz School of Corporate Management, Germany. I am member of the OECD DAC's Senior Advisory Group on Blended Finance, the Business & Sustainable Development Commission's Blended Finance Taskforce, the OECD WEF Sustainable Development Investment Partnership, the Climate Policy Initiative's Global Innovation Lab in Climate Finance and have an extensive network in sustainable investments and development finance.
