Audrey Kurth Cronin is Director of the Carnegie Mellon Institute for Strategy and Technology (CMIST) and Trustees Professor of Security and Technology at Carnegie Mellon University. Her work focuses on emerging technology, international security, terrorism, and the implications of widely available commercial technologies for conflict and non-state actors. She has held senior academic and policy roles at Oxford University, American University, George Mason University, the National War College, the Congressional Research Service, and the U.S. Department of Defense. Cronin is the author of widely cited books including How Terrorism Ends and Power to the People, and she regularly advises public- and private-sector leaders on technology, strategy, and security.
