Cellist and Interdisciplinary Artist

Studies: Paris Conservatoire (CRR), Paris Academy of Music Hanns Eisler. Concert Cellist. Has performed and collaborated with such personalities as the cellist Mstislav Rostropovich and the composer Helmut Lachenmann. Has dedicated work to the development of innovative forms of music making and listening, developing both a highly personal style of playing and new approaches to the composition of sound pieces and scenographic environments. Recent pieces include: the miniature opera "Kieu" (2009), based on the epic poem "The Tale of Kieu" by the vietnamese classical author Nguyen Du; the song cycle "Winter Journeys" (2007-2010), a commentary on the Schubert masterpiece "Winterreise" with non-professional protagonists; current project "SOLO" deals with a new approach toward the Suites for unaccompanied cello by Johann Sebastian Bach. Board and jury member, Foundation of Friends and Supporters of the Academy of Music Hanns Eisler, Berlin. Founder and Artistic Director, "written-not-written". Recipient of awards, including: Eisler Prize for Interpretation (2002); Youth Forum, Ensemble Modern (2004); 100 Grad Festival Prize" (2009).
