B. S. Yediyurappa

Chief Minister of Karnataka for the fourth time, the only Chief Minister to do so in the history of Karnataka; also the only person in the history of Karnataka to serve three times as Leader of the Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly. Karnataka (capital city Bangalore/Bengaluru) is the manufacturing hub for some of the largest public sector industries in India, including Hindustan Aeronautics, National Aerospace Laboratories, Bharat Heavy Electricals, Bharat Earth Movers and HMT (formerly Hindustan Machine Tools). Many of India's premier science and technology research centres, such as Indian Space Research Organisation, Central Power Research Institute, Bharat Electronics and the Central Food Technological Research Institute, are also headquartered in Karnataka. Karnataka has made a quantum leap in advancing new approaches to achieve its vision of inclusive and sustainable industrial development. Going forward, to accelerate progress and pave the way for a more ambitious, inclusive and universal development framework, Karnataka recognizes that responsible investment and technology transfer are crucial in achieving economic prosperity. In an effort to support investment and technology opportunities to help enterprises, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), improve productivity and innovation, and achieve systemic competitive advantages, Government of Karnataka has progressive investor-friendly policies.
