Bayan Yazdani migrated to Australia from Iran as a religious refugee when he was two. He has since called Adelaide - and now Perth - home and been committed to making his community, and the world, more just, inclusive and sustainable.

Today, his educational, professional and volunteering background includes rich experiences in multiple countries across the Asia-Pacific. Bayan is an experienced management consultant and policy evaluator/analyst. He currently works in sustainable agricultural policy for the Australian Government, where he liaises with international and domestic stakeholders to make food systems more sustainable and to reduce emissions and environmentally harmful practices associated with farming.

In addition, Bayan actively fosters Australia-Asia relations by strengthening people-to-people ties and intercultural understanding. To this end, he is a facilitator for AFS Intercultural Programs - having delivered seven programs with over 350 youth from across the world to strengthen their cross-cultural communication, enhance their knowledge of climate science, ideate solutions aligned with the UN sustainable development goals, and align with a greater mission for global good.

He also has strong interests and experience in multicultural affairs, international trade, and social psychology. Bayan holds an MBA in international trade and development, and Bachelors qualifications in international relations and psychology with First Class honours.
