Beatriz Cardenas

Air Quality Global Director, World Resources Institute

Expert in air pollution, with experience in both science and policy, from the study of biological processes to treat air pollutants, to the design and implementation of integrated policies to achieve clean air.
She has experience in the policy and management on air pollution, including being the General Director of Air Quality Management in Mexico City's Secretary of Environment and the director for air pollution experimental research area at the National Institute of Ecology and Climate Change and Director of Air Quality at the Megalopolis Environmental Commission for central region of Mexico.
As a scientist, she has co-authored several papers and and has participated in several research projects. She has been promoting more science-policy interactions as catalyzer of more on the ground actions to improve air quality.
