Belen Vallejo is a communications professional at Conservation International Ecuador (CI-Ecuador), a nonprofit organization whose aim is to protect nature, conserve biodiversity and promote a sustainable development, for the benefit of human welfare. Previously, Belén worked as Communicator at the Undersecretariat of Climate Change of the Ministry of environment, and she was part of the Ecuadorian Delegation at the 21st Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP21) when the new climate change treaty, known as the Paris Agreement was adopted. She graduated from San Francisco University of Quito, with a dual degree in Organizational Communication and International Relations.
