Ben Harburg is the Managing Partner of MSA Capital, a global investment fund with offices and portfolio companies in Greater China, South East Asia, the Middle East, and the United States. Under Ben's leadership, MSA invested in over 90 companies collectively valued in excess of $300 billion, including numerous landmark transactions like Meituan, Nio, Uber, and the Beijing Genomic Institute.
Most recently, Ben raised the largest independent venture fund in history to invest in the broader Middle East and African markets. Ben's professional and public service work have straddled these regions for the past 15 years. He was a founding member of The Boston Consulting Group's Middle East system and built a global commodities trading company with offices in 13 countries. His current investments strategy focuses on accelerating the development of companies in emerging technology markets by leveraging business models and technologies perfected in Asia.
He is the youngest member of the Board of Directors of the National Committee on United States-China Relations, as well as the Boards of Advisors of the Carnegie-Tsinghua Center and the Tufts School of Arts & Sciences.
Ben was a Neubauer Scholar at Tufts University and a Fulbright Scholar at Rhur University Bochum, where he was based in the Institute for Oriental and Islamic Studies. He is presently an EMBA candidate at the Tsinghua PBC School of Finance, the first native-born American to be admitted to the elite program.
