Author of more than 400 scientific articles; Editor of several books. Foreign Member, Nat'l Academy of Science, Poland; Fellow, IEEE. Recipient: RPI Wiley Distinguished Faculty Award (2003); Wilkes Medal, British Computer Society (2009); Honorary Professor of Engineering, Poland (2011). Research: network science with focus on social and communication networks; has worked on parallel and distributed processing, including mutual exclusion.
