I believe that if we do what we love and believe in, we shall do it with perfection and this has been deeply rooted in me over the years. As I begin my professional journey as a Medical Doctor and my choice is to pursue specialization in public health, I believe that I can put that into practice and truly appreciate the essence of this phrase to embrace what I am most passionate about, and is actually the whole objective of public health itself which is: Preventing diseases, prolonging life, and promoting physical and mental health, sanitation, personal hygiene, control of infectious diseases, and organization of health services.
I hope make a difference in regards to that.
I have a lot of experience at Global shapers community where us young people created projects to better the conditions in sectors we think are lacking, for example, health, education, agriculture and the economy. We have ssuccessfully organized projects such as Shaper talks, meet the leaders, projecto Mwinda, Kuzunga and others.
I firmly believe that I have the intellect, passion, drive and skills to excell In any and all community based services, especially in health sectors and actually make a change wherever I go. I value leadership, teamwork, ethics and honesty and I want to learn as much as I can.
I also have experience in working with English speaking companies and having translation as one of my key functions very valuable as well as my proven track record. I have always wanted to have experience in a more general manner for a variety of languages as well as the continued practice with English to be able to keep the working knowledge since I am in a Portuguese speaking country.
I have English as my native language seeing as to that I was born and raised in Zimbabwe (1996 – 2010) so I am very Fluent in the language. I then moved to Angola (2010 till current date), so I am very Fluent in Portuguese as well.
I Have worked with UNDP as an intern in the finance and administrative position, as well as Global Fund in the logistics position, all this in a major English speaking environment as well. In regards to translation, proof reading, interpretation and research as major keys functions I have worked for: United States Procurement Services as an executive personal assistant, Nuru Consulting as an executive personal assistant, Alpha Gamma Solutions as a marketing project manager and shortly for Anzisha prize fellowship as a translator, interviewer and interpreter at the time.
I currently work as a Doctor in a local Clinic to expand my experience in my sector as well as helping others while I find the means to specialize in Public health.
I believe my background and dedication to service of those in need demonstrates my personal drive to make a difference in my community and in my daily life.
With all that being said it is important to expand my knowledge and gain experience. While contributing to my passion for helping people, I hope to one day better the conditions in many public hospitals in Angola, especial in pediatric hospitals and this experience will be extremely relevant and the key, while helping me in advocating for change and desire to give people a better life.
