Cecilia Martinez-Miranda is the COO of Ananas Anam Philippines, a company that sources and processes pineapple leaf fibre from agricultural waste to make innovative natural textiles. Its product, Piñatex, is a new material used as a sustainable alternative to both mass-produced leather and polluting synthetic materials.
In high school, Cecilia co-founded WE International Philippines, an NGO supporting garbage scavengers in Tondo, Manila. She earned her B.A. in International Studies and Education from Macalester College in St.Paul, Minnesota and holds an MSc in Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Management from Imperial College Business School in London.
