Chad Hurley

Chad Hurley is the Founder, AVOS Systems, USA. Formerly, he was the Chief Executive Officer of YouTube, the world's largest video sharing website. Co-founded in 2005 with Steve Chen, its strategy is to keep the process of watching and sharing video effortless. Hurley's responsibilities include oversight of business development, marketing and operations. He created the clean, simple interface that lets the community interact and share videos. YouTube serves hundreds of millions of videos daily and created a new market for discovering, sharing and distributing videos around the globe. YouTube was awarded Best Invention of the Year by Time, and the first website named Entertainer of the Year by Entertainment Weekly. Hurley and Chen have received many honours, including 2007 Webby Person of the Year, Time's Most Influential People of 2007, Business 2.0's 50 Most Influential People, GQ's Men of the Year and Fortune's Most Powerful People in Business. Earlier, Hurley was the first user-interface designer at PayPal, with a fundamental role in early development of the service. Following its acquisition by eBay, Hurley consulted for several technology companies. He has a BA in Fine Art from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, USA.
