Chaiwat Kovavisarach

Group Chief Executive Officer and President, Bangchak

Mr. Chaiwat Kovavisarach has served as the Group Chief Executive Officer and President of Bangchak Corporation Plc (BCP) since 2015 and the Vice Chairman of BCPG Plc, the renewable-power producer subsidiary of BCP, since 2016. He has more than 25 years’ experience in engineering, investment banking and senior executive management. Chaiwat earned his Master’s degree in Engineering from Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in 1991 and MBA from Thammasat University. He graduated from King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) in Electrical Engineering with honors. Chaiwat commenced his career in 1987 with Siam Cement Group (SCG) where he received a scholarship for his AIT education. After serving SCG for 6 years, he moved into Asset Plus Co., Ltd. in 1994 as an investment banker before taking on a role as a corporate finance director with SG Crosby (Thailand) and later SG Securities (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. between 1996-2002. He was a fellow director of the Association of Thai Securities Companies in 2000. In 2002, Chaiwat founded TURNAROUND Company Ltd, a boutique financial advisory / investment banking company in Thailand, holding his managing director position until 2007 before becoming an advisor for Avantgarde Capital Company Limited in Thailand. Chaiwat has also served as a Non-Executive Director of BCP between 2012-2014. In 2016-2017. He serves at the board of several listed companies where among as director at the Lithium Americas Corp. (NYSE & TSX) and chairman of OKEA ASA (OSE). Chaiwat earned a Certificate of National Defence Course (NDC 58) by The National Defense College Association of Thailand with distinction, a Certificate of Thailand Energy Academy Course (TEA 10) and a Certificate of Senior Executives Class (CMA26), Capital Market Academy, Stock Exchange of Thailand, respectively.
