I was born in raised in Iowa, near the great Mississippi River. After graduating from the University of Iowa with a geography and sustainability degree, I moved to Des Moines- a vibrant city in Central Iowa. I work for a nonprofit called FoodCorps, whose mission is to co-create healthy, equitable food environments with school communities. We grow support for school garden programs, local sourcing, and engaging food-based education. I believe in the power of community, language, story and collective action to grow sustainable cities and systems of equity.
