Principal and Co-Founder, Article One

Chloe Poynton is a Principal and Co-Founder at Article One, a business and human rights advisory firm. She has spent over a dozen years working to advance respect for human rights globally. Since 2011, she has worked exclusively on business and human rights, working to advance corporate respect for human rights by partnering with large multinationals to develop human rights due diligence programs. Clients have included Microsoft, Visa, and Barrick Gold. Over the last year, she has been actively involved in surfacing and managing the actual and potential human rights impacts of the Fourth Industry Revolution. That work has included conducting the first ever human rights impact assessment on artificial intelligence, as well as launching the Business Roundtable on Human Rights and AI. The Roundtable supports companies including Facebook, Uber, and Microsoft to develop robust due diligence systems to responsibly manage the development and deployment of AI. Chloe holds an MA from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School and regularly writes and speaks on business and human rights issues.
