Has spent much of career building start-ups in supercomputing, consumer electronics, education, healthcare and robotics. Formerly with Systems Equipment Corp. and Data General Corp. 1982, Co-Founder, then CEO, Alliant Computer Systems Corp. Since 1992, with Microsoft Corp. including: CTO, Advanced Strategies and Policy; currently, Chief Research and Strategy Officer; concurrently, principal technology policy liaison to the US and foreign gov'ts, with emphasis on China, India & Russia. 2009, Member, President's Council of Advisors on Science & Tech.
